Know Your Rights When You Are Injured!

When you are in an automobile accident, slip and fall, or are otherwise injured by another person’s negligence or intentional act, there are many things to consider.

Some insurance companies want to send an adjuster out right away to “cut you a check” and “make it go away.”  This is not always the best route to take.  Some injuries can take weeks to fully appear or be diagnosed and if you settle your case within days of the accident, you would lose your right to be compensation for injuries that later appear – including losing the right to have the responsible party pay for your medical bills.  Accidents don’t just cause physical injuries.  Depending on what happens, you can lose time from work or your job all-together.  They can put strain on your relationships, run up debts, and cause emotional distress. Your health insurance company may refuse to pay for medical bills resulting from an accident that was someone else’s fault.   You should discuss your case with an attorney right away if you are injured.  There is a time limit to make a claim and file a lawsuit, so the sooner you call, the better your chances of recovering.
